Introduction
This anthology was a chance to gather together stories by some of my favourite writers of modern Science Fiction and Fantasy. What a treat. And since it is always good to be open to new things, I also included a couple of writers almost entirely unknown to me.

This book represents, I believe, some of the very best writers working today. If you recognise their names then I guess you know that already. If not, then you are in the enviable position of being able to discover them now. You lucky thing.

A thoughtful collection of stories by some of my favorite writers. Brilliant. Really brilliant. And I'm not just saying that because I'm in it. I was quite surprised to see he chose a story of mine. Thank you Chris Butler.
